CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT
The identity of Pulp Atelier is built on duality, balancing the raw, tactile nature of paper-making with the refinement of craftsmanship and artistry. The brand positions paper as a creative and emotional medium rather than a disposable material, with packaging inspired by the ritual of gift-giving to create anticipation and delight.
Every design decision was made to communicate elegance and sophistication. The single Pantone colour creates a refined, minimal palette that feels premium and timeless. The typography was chosen for its high-contrast, editorial quality, reinforcing a sense of luxury and craft. A refined secondary logo adds versatility and brand depth, while embossed details, cut-out windows, and layered compartments enhance the tactile, gift-like experience. Together, these elements transform the box into something intentional, elevated, and special.
The client required a mail-safe paper stock sample designed using a single Pantone colour. I developed the project from the ground up, creating the brand name, logo, and full visual identity before designing the final piece. The goal was to move beyond a traditional brochure and create a premium, gift-like brand experience that felt intentional, luxurious, and sophisticated.
The main challenge was elevating a simple paper sample into something memorable while working within the limitation of one colour. I focused on texture, structure, and materiality, drawing inspiration from the ritual of gift-giving. Embossing, cut-out window details, and layered compartments were used to create a tactile unboxing experience.
The final outcome transformed a functional mailer into a sensory brand piece that communicates craftsmanship, quality, and the emotional value of paper.
